We were lucky enough to have Harold and Rachel from the Life Education caravan visit us today. We had two sessions in the caravan and talked about values. Room 2 explored what it takes to be a good team member, something that is highly important in our daily game of paper, scissors, rock!
The first day of term can often cause a few butterflies. This term is one of new beginnings for everyone in Room 2 with a new teacher, a change in classmates and for some, a new room. We began this week with some team challenges. This one was lots of fun and may have helped to feed those tummy butterflies just a little.
Each group was given a packet of spaghetti and a packet of marshmallows. The aim was to build the tallest tower that was able to support itself.
What a great way to get to know each other and explore what being part of a successful team might look like. The team of Kyle, Lukas, Blake and Erana created the winning tower with a structure that was 32cm tall. Great work team!
We agreed that when we are working in a team we need to work together, share ideas, be willing to try out other people's ideas.
These expectations will begin to form our class treaty, what learning looks like in Room 2 and we will add to these as the term progresses.
Welcome to our Room 2 blog, this is where we will share our learning with you.
