Horsing around in Waikino
Hamish and Erana's Taekwando teacher Paul Hicks gave a fantastic demonstration today!
We felt proud of Erana and Hamish his students who attend our school. They helped Paul with his presentation before he read us a funny story he enjoys reading his own boys, "Piranha's don't eat bananas."
Above is an explanation of what Taekwando is all about and it's origins. Clicking on the picture takes you to the Northwind Taekwando Club in Waihi. If you are interested in taking up the martial art please contact Paul to express your interest. Don't forget to tell him where you are from and mention Waikino School.
Thanks again Mr Hicks!
Close range power!
This blew all the kids away! Paul breaks a board!
Hamish breaks his own board!
Hamish didn't break his board today. He explained to Mr B how difficult it is, as you need to see beyond the wood and visualise chopping through the board as you strike. His Mum said, "There is a lot of mind over matter to doing this!"
This video shows Hamish breaking his own board not so long ago.
