I hope that families were also able to visit Art Waikino this weekend. It was good to see Room 3's youngest students identifying with a native bird and the value that each one holds, seeing the children already aspiring to these values really demonstrates our school vision of helping children learn today, in order to lead well in their own lives for the future. I know Mrs Smith has really enjoyed sharing discussion and conversation with her students around which bird they were choosing to walk with them through their learning journey while at Waikino School. What an excellent foundation for their learning.
Science and Art
Finally I loved to see the joy in Room 1 in connecting with their favourite Native tree and then using the inspiration of Hundertwasser to create their own unique rainbow trees. Judging by the comments on Facebook, many people were able to see other things within the children art-which is art is it not, challenging us to look at our world from different perspectives?
Friendship is so important
