It is nice to see a warmer morning to start our week. There is great anticipation and excitement as we await the hatching of our eggs in Room 2 and 3. Please keep up to date with our classroom blogs-Room 3 has updated theirs so there is a lot for community to catch up on from the past few weeks learning.
Well done to our Y4-6 Soccer team who represented Waikino School at the Waihi 7's on Friday. They were in the Year 6 pool so that represented a challenge, but I was proud at how well they rose to the challenge. Thanks to Captain Pratik who made good calls placing himself in goal when needed, and to young Ace who not only did well in goal but really stepped up on the field. Congratulations to Pratik and Amie who also scored their first goals during these games. Thanks to our parents Fenella, Melissa and Hasmita for their help on the day.
This week sees our visit to the school from the Ministry of Education office in Wellington, who are here to write an article on our curriculum. It is a proud moment for our school and we welcome them to Te Kauri at 9am on Thursday morning with a powhiri. They will meet with members of the BOT from 10am, a student group and myself to talk through our journey last year and the making of our album.
We will also tour the school and connect with our Edible Community Vision and journey to date this year. Please feel welcome to join us for the powhiri and a light morning tea afterwards.
have a great week
