For our children the idea of how we can use enjoy and yet protect and keep safe an aspect of our environment can best be taught through experience, in a real living example which is relevant to their lives. The native area holds real significance and is the perfect example of an area we would like to play in, enjoy and yet protect and allow it to continue to flourish.
After much discussion over balancing our needs alongside the needs of our native area, we developed clear boundaries, rules and the governing principles for it's use. A Treaty was formed and written, which we agreed, all of us must sign.
It has been a meaningful process to work through in both Room 1 & 2 and we will come together this week for a historical signing of the Treaty.
