Waikino School sits in the heart of Waikino, located in the beautiful Karangahake Gorge between Waihi and Paeroa. A small rural school with deep roots and a clear direction.

From new entrants to year 6, our ākonga build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy alongside real-world, hands-on learning. They don't just sit in classrooms..they design, build, move and problem solve their way through the curriculum with purpose and connection.

At our kura, every child is known. Every experience has intention and everything we do is grounded in our Mana Motuhake learning model: learning to stand on your own through connection to whenua, to each other and to the real world.
