Research continues to show the powerful benefits of time in nature. Through hands-on, child-led experiences, children develop:

creativity and curiosity
emotional regulation and wellbeing
Since 2018, Waikino’s One Day Forest School has been based in our on-site Te Ngāhere (forest) — a space where children are free to explore, create, take safe risks, and discover who they are as learners.
At Waikino, we are passionate about helping all children feel connected, capable, and empowered — so they can engage positively with life, learning, and their education.
